N. Hamata - 1 (Wistuba, Clone 4, Central Sulawesi)

6/11/2008

I've had these for about two months now, but decided to not take pictures until I started seeing some reliable new growth. I tried a hamata before, but was nowhere NEAR ready to take care of it and the darn thing croaked. This time, I'm trying it a lot more carefully with conditions much closer to the hamata's natural environment.

The colored straws you see are supporting a few layers of bubble wrap. This is my improvised way of getting the plant used to the light intensity of my terrarium.

The leaves that are crispy were part of the plant when it arrived. The three greenish ones in the middle are new growth.

Although it looks as though there are less leaves, most of the bottom leaves of the above picture quickly died off after the plant arrived. Since then, a decent amount of growth has happened.
